FREEDOM AND LAW

We live in a universe of Freedom and Law. And, in order to be free, we must obey spiritual Law.

Divine Love is freedom. "Wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty..."  Real Love originates in the will. And the will is free.

We are not forced to love God or our neighbor. We have the freedom to remain in ignorance, self-love, self-intelligence and self-righteousness. But, if we do, we will remain in the prison of our egotistical self. The doors to Heaven are always open. And we can only enter Heaven freely and willingly by choosing Heavenly Love, Heavenly Wisdom and Heavenly righteousness.

17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. (Mark 10:17-25)

If we still believe that our  Joy, health and supply come from the world or our own personal self , then we will remain in the egotistical prison of self-love, self-intelligence and self-righteousness. 

The most precious things in the universe are not gold and silver; they are Divine Love and Divine Truth.

When the rich man answered Jesus, he probably thought he was telling the Truth. He was self-righteous. When he said that he observed the commandments and never killed anybody, he probably thought it only meant physically. But what about spiritually or in consciousness? If we hate anybody, we are killing him in our consciousness.

What about stealing? If we think that the riches of the world belong to us, we are stealing them from God and our neighbor. All supply comes from consciousness or spiritual substance. We can use and share spiritual substance, but we have no right to possess it. It all belongs to God.

So, most of us can be sure that we continue to transgress the Law on the spiritual level. The natural man is unable to believe that real or eternal joy is the result of being loving, compassionate, giving and forgiving.

To be free, we must not only obey the Laws of natural society, we must also obey the Laws of spiritual society or Heaven. Heaven is a Kingdom of Love, uses and creativity.

To be really rich is to be rich in Heavenly Love and Wisdom. The more loving and wise we become, the freer and more joyful we are.
